REERA DANCE TROUPE
The Reera dance group was formed at the beginning of the Iranian revolution to, through dance choreographies and performances of songs containing the message of ”woman, life, freedom”, reflect the suffering and hopes of our country and to portray the human concerns and the universally dominant desire in Iran. The group is led by a dancer, who danced on Iran’s forbidden stages for many years, with love and commitment to this art form. Motivated by the Iranian revolution, she formed the dance group Reera. The group, most of whose members have no previous experience of dancing, was selected based on their morals and feelings during the months since the beginning of the revolution. They have been trained and prepared for performances.
Reera is a combination of restoration, revolution and sun (light).
Reera is the name of one of the girls who was hit by a rocket in the fiery sky of Iran and Reera’s dance was born in that moment of awakening, struggle and freedom. In memory of Reera’s shining eyes.
